Vietnamese volunteer soldiers contribute to Cambodia’s victory

(VOVworld) – Cambodia’s National Assembly Chairman Heng Samrinh has praised the enormous contributions by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers to Cambodia’s historic victory over the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime on January 07, 1979.

He was quoted by the Kampuchia Thmey Daily in an article marking the 38th anniversary of the victory, which overthrew the Khmer Rouge regime, saved the Cambodian people from Pol Pot’s genocidal tragedy, and created the driving force for today's achievements. Other major media agencies, such as Voice of Democracy and the Women’s Media Centre, also ran commentaries on the victory and Vietnamese people’s assistance.
