Khmer Circle:

Brilliant interview and grilling by RFA. It seems the interviewee is far more scathing of the 'cowardice' and 'shortcomings' of Sam Rainsy or exiled critics of Xamdaach Hun Sen than he is of the latter or his own duplicities and actual cowardice. Spells in prison do not necessarily provide the world with a true indicator or measure of a person's moral character or his/her fidelity to his/her social conscience.

Likewise, numerous critics of the regime and dissidents who have been forced into overseas exile under grave threats and risks posed not only to their persons but also to their dependents and loved ones are not all necessarily to be condemned as "cowards" 'fleeing' their country or betraying their good consciences. There are a thousand means and ways by which to fight against tyranny and injustice, but caving in to the tyrant and being content to live off his handouts or crumbs is not one of them. This is also the same man who once scornfully referred to Kem Sokha and Sam Rainsy as "lizards" after their decision to end their initial boycott of the post 2013 election National Assembly and negotiated reforms with the ruling CPP under the slogan of "culture of dialogue".

Despite the interviewee's scathing attack on the exiled activists, critics and Rainsy, it should be added that none of these individuals has ever been responsible for all the societal ills [described in his poems], assassinations, jailing of political, environment activists or prisoners of conscience etc. within the last three decades of this diabolical regime.

Those wonderful blessings are almost all the works and achievements of Xamdaach alone.
