The TV series titled “The Son Under the Full Moon” was debuted here this afternoon under the presidency of Prime Minister Hun Sen and First Lady Bun Rany Hun Sen.
Mr Hun Sen said the TV series cover about 40 percent of the facts of his life since he was young until he came to power.
The Premier added that he had contributed to around 20 last episodes and most of the story mainly focus on civil war in the 1970s.
“Most of the scenes of the TV series focus on the activities against the coup d’état against Preah Karuna Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk,” he underlined.
Mrs Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts said this is a historical fact from the civil war in the 1970s. This story shows the flow of history and the real-life story of a Cambodian statesman who has brought peace to the country, she continued.
More than 100 shooting locations in five provinces and capital city, including Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Thbong Khmum, Kampong Speu and Phnom Penh, have carefully been selected for the story.
Mr Hun Sen was born in Peam Koh Sna commune, Stung Trang district of Kampong Cham province. Upon completion of his local primary schooling, in 1965 he came to Phnom Penh to continue his secondary education in the Indra Devi High School and resided in Neakavoan Pagoda.
In 1970, when Cambodia was plunged into war and responding to the appeal of Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk to Cambodians to join the war against the imperialists, at the age of 18, he joined the struggle movement, which liberated the country on April 17, 1975. .
One day before the victory, on April 16, 1975, he was wounded in the left eye. After recovering from months of treatment, on Jan. 5, 1976, he married to Bun Rany.
