One killed in fatal Sihanoukville blaze

At least one boy was killed and six houses completely destroyed by a fire in Sihanoukville yesterday afternoon, according to Chor Heng, acting chief of Sihanoukville’s fire department.
According to victims at the scene, the fire started at in Village 5 in Commune 4. The house belonged to Hang Mam, 65, a worker at Sihanoukville’s Autonomous Port and the 4-year-old victim’s grandmother.
Authorities could not identify the cause of the fire, and have yet to put a figure on the total cost of the destruction.
"As of now, we do not know the cause of the fire, as the victim is suffering from the destruction of her house and the death of her grandson," Heng said.
