Houn Panary was elected to lead the Beehive Social Democratic Party yesterday at a party congress, while the Khmer National United Party selected Sing Kiri as its new leader in light of former President Nhek Bun Chhay’s arrest last month.
Panary laid out a set of policy priorities including poverty reduction, a two-term limit for the prime minister, conflict of interest rules for lawmakers owning businesses, a review of border treaties, and harsher prosecution of environmental destruction and narcotics trafficking. She also said that, if elected prime minister, she would request the King pardon “political prisoners and the victims of [free] expression”.
Ex-Beehive chief Mam Sonando said that disappointing election results – along with revisions to the Law on Political Partiesforbidding parties from associating with a convicted criminal – motivated his departure. Sonando has previously faced criminal charges, including a count of insurrection, in a case involving a rural land dispute that is widely considered politically motivated.

“I will ask the Ministry of Interior what I can do to help the party. I am convinced that the law . . . was created not for me, but for Kem Sokha and Sam Rainsy,” Sonando said, referring to the founders of the Cambodia National Rescue Party, both of whom have either been convicted or are facing charges in politically tinged cases.
Meanwhile, the KNUP’s Kiri said he will continue to build on Bun Chhay’s achievements.
“I have some ideas to add . . . but I will not change all the old policy.”

Enough is enough! Stop thinking you are the only one who is so important. Think about the Cambodia and Cambodian people as a whole which are so important to save Cambodia from the stupid, dumb and blind CPP clowns like Hun Sen (a puppet of Vietnam), the opportunists (like Phay Siphan, Keo Remy, Chheang Vun, Sok Touch, etc), the secret Communist Vietcong (Yuon or Vietnamese) agents hiding in Hun Sen's illegal CPP regime to rob Cambodian treasures and properties), and more.
Come on and join the CNRP for the sake of Cambodia and Cambodian people.
You was elected as New Beehive Social Democratic Party President which means nothing, but causes the voter splits. Don't be like Mr. Kem Sok (former president of HRP) did in the past 1990s and on until Mr. Kem Sokha joined forces with Mr. Sam Rainsy Party to form CNRP for the sake of Cambodia and Cambodian people at last.
Please don't be so blind. Do you see Mr. Sam Rainsy resigned for saving CNRP? Mr. Sam Rainsy was very honest and very dynamic leader. He knows what he has done for the sake of Cambodia and Cambodian people.
We know that Ms. Theary Seng and her democratic team have been so upset with Mr. Kem Sokha and his daughter Mona over the controversial matter. We as Khmer learned to forgive and show the supports and loves for all of Khmer/Cambodian people who the victims of Vietnam ( and China via Hun Sen and lazy CPP clowns along with the secret Communist Vietnamese agents working side by side with Hun Sen militarily).
