All depends what Touchstone one uses to define "truth" because what is true to one belief or person is irrelevant to another. This world is in a tumult because truth is relative and not absolute.
A good example of a lie is the globe earth. Because the word UP is a relative term. If you are on the top of the globe or if you are on the bottom of the globe, UP is relative to your station of location. But, if the earth is flat -- than UP is absolute, because everyone is on a level plain. Again, if the earth is spinning East and West is a relative term, because earth is always moving. But if earth is stationary, then East and West is absolute. Yet when scientists talk of east and west or up they do so in absolute term. Because they know the earth is flat yet teach they the public that the earth is round and spinning through space.
