‘Super Blue Blood Moon’ seen from Cambodia

A 'Super Blue Blood Moon' was seen over Cambodia last night, with the Moon appearing brighter than usual and tinged a dusty brown colour.

Visible across Australasia, North America, the Middle East and parts of Europe and Africa, three phenomena coincided yesterday, according to the US space agency NASA: a 'supermoon', when the Moon is closer to the Earth in its orbit, making it seem brighter; a 'blue moon', which is the common term for the second full moon of the month; and a lunar eclipse, when the moon passes into the Earth's shadow, causing its reddish colour.
