Hun Sen, a former Khmer Rouge cadre and Asia’s longest-serving leader, stacked the odds in his favor to be elected prime minister of Cambodia on July 29. He continues his stronghold on his country, much like Bashar al-Assad of Syria and Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, among others.
