Well, that's what Khmer people want, but the sole purpose of having the current CPP regime and its bull-headed "strongman" in the seat of power in the first place is radically in quite the opposite realm to their real desire.
"Khmer people" [if that's the case] should give up harbouring such far-fetched notions after all this wasted time of trials and errors, concessions, "dialogues", opportunities missed and, even golden chances of national salvation squandered big time by dim-witted men and scoundrels once given the mandate by the Khmer people themselves to lead them out of this mess...
Khmer people in all likelihood still harbour the desire to see national unity as such. Yet whether they would want to see such a unity resting on a ruling clan who have done everything in their power - including killing and silencing them for airing even their legitimate grievances peacefully - in exchange for clinging on to power, well, that's another matter altogether!
Media reporters should know better than to report as facts or news-worthy what people in the streets choose to tell them under constant pressure and fear saturating their lives and political culture. For example, they are not likely to say: "Well, find a way to rid the country of these foreign stooges and rotten traitors first, then, and only then should we start thinking about "national unity and reconciliation"!
In fact, it is this naive faith in "national reconciliation and unity among Khmers" that have partly breathed new life to CPP rule and its disregard for multi-party democracy.
