Hun Sen's ulterior motive behind his threat was barring Khmer patriots from participating in the general election. Hun Sen knew clearly that in 2013 general election, the CNRP won by a landslide. For this reason, he needs to keep eliminating all opposition parties' members as much as he can before he goes to hell.
Ah Chker Chkuot Hun Sen is still Ah Chker Chkuot Hun Sen. Nothing has changed because of his unpopularity. So, he must use all means for him and his family to hold on to power.
