If this news story had anything to do with a local Khmer reporter, then the reporter would have suffered the same fate as the previous RT reporter over the story about a young woman being sold into prostitution by her mother.
For a barbaric regime led by a former barbaric KR commander, the importance or sensitivity it attaches to such news stories and to any negative image this creates for it - be it founded or otherwise - seems somewhat surprising and out of its own overall barbaric, savage character. Afterall, the regime would not think twice of ordering an indiscriminate firing of live bullets into crowds of factory workers peacefully protesting against poor working conditions or poor wages, as had been witnessed in the Veng Streng Bld. massacre of 2014.
Note that as a nation and collective human entity, the country's vital 'organs' are - and have been - on the chopping board or being on sale for decades. Sand-dredging, landgrabs, illegal loggings and deforestation, ceding land concessions and territories to foreign states and so forth are all actual examples of national organ harvesting, albeit harvesting on a disproportionately far larger scale.
