For many of the less fortunate in the world - not only in Asia - hope is all they have to hold on to... For too many of them the new year may bring more of the same: more hardships, adversities, hope and despair...

A year of hope

The hundreds of millions of people in Asia who follow the 12-year-cycle of the Lunar calendar will say farewell to the Year of the Tiger and welcome the Year of the Rabbit, which runs from Jan. 22, 2023 to Feb. 9, 2024. According to the Chinese zodiac, the Rabbit symbolizes longevity, peace, and prosperity.
