The main reason why the CPP (actually Ah Roleuy Hun Sen, not the CPP) can hold on the power a long time because Ah Chker Chkuot Hun Sen clearly knew that only the evil Vietnam that can remove him from power. So, he has complied to all Yuon's demands in order to facilitate the Vietnamization of Cambodia.
In addition, Ah Hun Sen has made himself an "everything person". In effect, he can create a law, amend a law, abolish a law, dissolve a political party, etc...

The jerks who deplored the democratic opposition must stop barking against the opposition. Division or no division within the democratic opposition, Hun Sen and Yuon have always emerged as the winner because they can do whatever they have to do.
Actually, the opposition won already the election in 2013, largely thanks to the 50 plus 1 law initiated by Sam Rainsy. And Hun Sen dissolved the CNRP because of that 50 + 1 law.
On the contrary, Khmer people must understand that Ah Roleuy Hun Sen has lost the power since 1993. Without Yuon's support, Ah Chker Chkuot Hun Sen should have gone to hell a long time ago.
Hun Sen is the best Yuon's slave ever, and the worst Khmer traitor in history.

The 50 plus 1 law gave an opportunity to any political party to win the general election and lead Cambodia by itself. That's why Ah Roleuy Hun Sen dissolved the CNRP in 2017 to prevent his downfall.
Actually, the CNRP had won the election in 2013. And it would win again in 2018. Sensing this grave danger, Ah Yuon's slave Hun Sen had no choice but to kill the CNRP.
So, the 50 plus 1 is a good law, resolve the political impasse after the general election.
With the 2/3 majority law, Cambodia always had political impasse after the general election. The 50+1 law would end this problem.
But whatever law we have, Ah Kwack Hun Sen never abide and obey the law. 50 +1 or 50+100 does mean anything to Ah Chker Chkuot Hun Sen. He will do whatever necessary to stay in power to serve his master Yuon.
